Voyage to the Heart of Matter – The ATLAS Experiment in POP-UP
7000 tonnes of metal, glass, plastic, cables and computer chips leap from the page in 3D pop-up, to tell the story of CERN’s quest to understand the birth of the universe.

100m underground, the cavern housing ATLAS is one of the biggest in the world, which itseld posed unusual challenges.

You can complete the construction of ATLAS using extra pieces in the envelope. The real detector took 25 years to build.

Space, time, matter... everything originated in the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago. ATLAS turns back the clock to explore what happened immediately after the Big Bang when the universe was less than a billionth of a second old. The experiment brings physics into unexplored territory to help unearth the hidden secrets of the universe.
